Plans for 30% increase in patient services

The Community Health Care Clinic is planning an expansion, to increase patient and patient services by 30% over the next couple of years.

Clinic host luncheon, seeks help to continue mission

A McLean County clinic that began as a "mom and pop storefront" in 1994 and grew to hae 13,264 patient visits in 2010 celebrated its past and present and asked for help to continue its mission at its first Commitment to Health Luncheon on Friday.

Community Health Care Clinic gets a makeover

Volunteers from Leadership McLean County and Carpenters Local 63 donated their efforts along with many local business to improve the worn appearance of the 30 year old building that is home to the Clinic.

Community Health Care Clinic Names New Director

Angie McLaughlin, former director of community impact for the United Way of McLean County, has been named executive director of the CHCC. Board President Deb Cochran said of Angie, "she is an energetic McLean County native with knowlege of the area and experience working for non-profit agencies and writing grant applications. Angie replaces Shirley Drazewski, who is stepping down after leading the clinic for eight years.

Alternative Christmas Market at Wesley United Methodist

December 5th Wesley United Methodist Church of Bloomington held their first annual Alternative Christmas Market. This event was open to the public and featured various non-profit agencies including the Community Health Care Clinic. Community members visited each agency's display and then bought "gifts" for their agencies of choice.

Clinic's Director stepping down, goals remain the same

Shirley Drazewski, the Community Health Care Clinic's Executive Director for the past eight years, announced she is stepping down at the end of the year. The clinic plans to stay open and continue to serve the 3,000 some patients. The clinic is on pace to reach 13,000 patient visits by the end of the year. Full article at the Pantagraph website.

Shirley Drazewski is honored as a Woman of Distinction

On May 27, 2010, Shirley and 5 other outstanding women who serve McLean County were honored at the 21st Annual YWCA Women of Distinction Awards. Through her leadership, 2009 was an impressive year for the Clinic, expanding services to meet local needs during an economic downturn. She has also been instrumental in establishing the Illinois Free Clinic Assocation and is the representative for the Free Clinics of the Great Lakes Regional Association. Clinic Patient shares views on Health Care Reform

Annual Report of the Clinic Shows Increased Demand in 2009

Clinic Director Comments on the Health Care Reform Bill

In response to the bill, many area doctors are unsure as to how the health care system will integrate the citizens not previously covered.
