Normal Cornbelters Baseball Game

June 3rd was Community Health Care Clinic night at the Corn Crib. Board of Directors, staff memebers, families, and friends enjoyed an opening week Cornbelters game. As Clinic sponsor for the event, PNC bank purchased 300 tickets, which were then sold by the Clinic's board members and staff. Earnings from those sales went to the Clinic.

Wade Barney Lodge #512 raises money for the Clinic

Shirley Drazewski is honored as a Woman of Distinction

On May 27, 2010, Shirley and 5 other outstanding women who serve McLean County were honored at the 21st Annual YWCA Women of Distinction Awards. Through her leadership, 2009 was an impressive year for the Clinic, expanding services to meet local needs during an economic downturn. She has also been instrumental in establishing the Illinois Free Clinic Assocation and is the representative for the Free Clinics of the Great Lakes Regional Association.

Clinic Patient shares views on Health Care Reform

John Knell has utilized the Community Health Care Clinic's primary care services for the past several years as he has been unable to afford health care insurance. He values the relationship that exists between provider and patient and expresses his thoughts on how health care reform will impact it.

U.S. Senator Dick Durbin held a press conference March 31st, 2010 at the Community Health Care Clinic to explain how the new bill will help people obtain health affordable coverage. Michael McRaith, Illinois Director of Insurance, joined Senator Durbin and talked on the rising cost of health insurance in Illinois

Annual Report of the Clinic Shows Increased Demand in 2009

After increases in applications and services in 2009, the Community Health Care Clinic continues to be busy as the demand for clinic services is expected to rise in 2010.

Clinic Director Comments on the Health Care Reform Bill

In response to the bill, many area doctors are unsure as to how the health care system will integrate the citizens not previously covered. Shirley Drazewski, executive director of the Community Health Care Clinic, is hopeful of the new legislation but concerned that some individuals might still be excluded.

Illinois Heart and Lung Women's Health Night 2010

The Community Health Care Clinic participated in the annual Illinois Heart and Lung Women's Health Night held on March 9th in the Interstate Center in Bloomington, Illinois. This year, the Clinic provided applications to event attendees. Also new for 2010, the lecture series included the first ever Spanish presentation on health and nutrition, conducted by Brianna Welch, Patient Care Associate and Translator at the Community Health Care Clinic.
